Chile de Arbol

Chile de Arbol (or de Arbol Chile Peppers) is considered a medium hot chile. It comes in at 15,000 – 30,000 SHU (Scoville Heat Units) which is around 7.5 on the heat scale of 1-10. De Arbol Chiles are comparable to a Cayenne Pepper.

For Mexican and Southwest cooking, De Arbol is a hot chile and a staple in Southwest kitchens. Use in your tacos, enchiladas, soups and stews. It is also used by cooks in chile competitions and other cook-offs.

Add some heat to your next salsa, Mexican rice dish, or your pot of chili with a sprinkle. If you blend your own BBQ sauces, add a dash to kick the heat up a notch.
