Lemon Peel Pieces

Lemon Peel Pieces contains larger pieces of the zest of the Lemon. We use this coarse granulated peel for tea flavoring. It is also use in marinades that require a citrus flavor. The cultivation of citrus has a history of at least 2000 years, and the fruit was used long before then. Lemons originated in India and China; the Greeks, when introduced to Lemons, prized them for both their culinary and medical properties.

Besides used in teas, dried Lemon Zest Pieces are used in desserts, mulled drinks, added to sugar and used in cooking meat or fish stew. A little Lemon Peel mixed in with cheese sauces lightens the dish. Granulated Lemon Peel is also used in the Italian seasoning mixture Gremolada.

If you prefer the smaller pieces, we also carry Lemon Peel Zest Granules.

We also carry Lime Juice Powder, Lemon Juice Powder and Lemon Peel Powder, each with it’s own uses, but necessary if the recipe calls for it.
