Our Masala Chai Tea is a full bodied blend which combines premium Ceylon black tea with South Indian masala spices. The finish has cardamom notes peeking out from lively ginger. If you are a chai fan, this is one you’ll really enjoy. It is superb with milk and sugar, iced or as a Chai latte. This is the chai tea you are are looking for if you want what is considered the classic flavor or the chai for Chai Lattes.

In Indian culture, ‘Masala’ means ‘a blend of spices’, and ‘chai’ simply means ‘tea.’ So, Masala Chai is literally ‘spiced tea’.

Our interpretation tries to stay true to its definition thanks to a warm and inviting fragrance, zesty flavor (without being too hot or spicy) and invigorating, aromatic finish. Most teas call for one teaspoon per cup of water, but for a true, Indian Chai experience, we suggest two heaping teaspoons per 8 oz cup. Add sugar or milk if desired.

Steeping Instructions
Hot Tea Steeping Instructions: Put 1 heaping teaspoon of loose tea for each 8oz of water in your tea cup or teapot. Using a tea infuser to hold the tea makes it easier. Pour boiling water over the tea. Steep for 3 to 5 minutes.

Iced Tea Instructions: For a Liter or quart use 2 heaping Tbsp. of loose tea into teapot. Pour 1 1/4 cup boiled water on tea. Steep 3 to 5 min. Strain tea into pitcher, adding water and/or ice to complete the liter or quart. Garnish & sweeten to taste.
