Red Wine Vinegar Powder
Red Wine Vinegar Powder is a powdered form of red wine vinegar. It is not recommended as a direct substitute for red wine vinegar, due to the decrease in acidity that results from the dehydration process, but it can be used as a seasoning or salt substitute many ways if you’re on a Low-Sodium diet.
It can be used in dry rubs, marinades, sauces, brining & pickling solutions, especially poultry brines. Vinegar powders are used in salad dressing mixes. The Red Wine Vinegar flavor will add an extra twist compared to white or apple vinegars. Use when you make homemade salt and vinegar potato chips or pretzels. Sprinkle on cooked vegetables as a salt substitute.
To make a great olive or veggie marinade, mix a bit with olive oil, crushed garlic, lemon zest, and olives or vegetables of your choice. Marinate overnight and enjoy the next day. Costs a lot less than Olive Bars.
If you want a liquid version to impart the Red Wine Vinegar flavor, just combine 2 parts water to 1 part powder.
