Masala Chai is back and I have to tell you about it. It’s been away since before Christmas, as we’ve been looking for a new version which had more of the classic Chai spice flavor we all love. We sampled many, and finally found one we really love. It has all the requisite spices, including cardamom, ginger, cinnamon, fennel, clove, and others, which give you both a scent to draw you in and a taste to keep you sipping cup after cup.

Too many chai teas have too much cinnamon, or other spice which makes the flavor leaning too much one way. You might like it that way, but from my first cup of “authentic” chai almost 40 years ago, I’ve always liked a balanced palate of all the spices, and I think we’ve found a new favorite.
