Kukicha Twig Tea – Rick’s Tea Face 10-28-2025

I’ve never Tea Faced Kukicha Japanese Tea. How could I missed it? It’s so unique. I’ll sip a cup when I’m on my green tea rotation, or I want a green tea and want to avoid the caffeine. Kukicha translates to Twig Tea. It’s made from the stems, stalks, and twigs from the Gyokuro tea plant after the leaves have been harvested and made into loose tea or Matcha. Because it doesn’t contain any tea leaves, it’s considered caffeine-free. We have a loyal following who love the light vegetal flavor, not unlike a green tea, but less grassy, slightly sweet, smooth, and….different enough to get you hooked. The color is also enticing.  The medium amber color is darker than many green teas.
