Icewine Black Tea – Rick’s Tea Face 08-23-2025
Let’s end the day with a favorite tea. I wanted to end my day with a cup of Icewine Black Tea, but only had some Icewine Green Tea. The good new is that both Icewine Teas have that grapey flavor I love in a glass of Icewine. The bad news is that we’re out of Icewine Green Tea. But…the extra good news is that we have plenty of Icewine Black, which is what I’ll tell you about and encourage you to try it if you haven’t done so yet. The taste is unique whether you’ve tasted Icewine or not. Let me explain.
Icewine is a late-harvest white wine, produced in certain areas of the world and only in certain years. If the conditions are right, the grapes are allowed to freeze on the vine, at which time they are harvested and pressed. These shriveled, frozen gapes have such a concentrated juice, they only give up a drop or two of this sweet, syrup-like nectar. When made into wine, the result is a very sweet, grapey wine. Our blender flavors the tea with Southern Ontario Icewine so you have a nice grapey flavor you can’t match.
It’s this unique grapey, icewine I really like. We have it both as a loose tea and in tea bags in embossed tins, which make great gifts.
