Servings 2 to 3
Ingredients
1 ½ Pounds Baking Potatoes. About 2-3 Large. Russets work the best from what we’ve used.
3 Tablespoons Oil. We use canola, but you can use olive or peanut.
3 Tablespoons (Divided) Sheffield’s Maui Onion Style Seasoning
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375°F. Set the rack to the middle position.
Line a large rimmed baking tray with parchment paper.
Wash the potatoes. You can leave the skins on or peel them. Cut potatoes into ¼” fry strips. You can cut them into larger streak-fry size if you like. You’ll just have to cook them longer.
Transfer potatoes to a large bowl. Cover with cold water. Add some ice cubes to get the temperature lower. Soak for 30 to 60 minutes minimum to help get rid of the surface starch. You can soak them overnight if you like. Once soaked, remove them from the water and dry well.
Placed potatoes in a large bowl. Add the oil and toss to coat completely. Sprinkle 2 tablespoons of the Sheffield’s Maui Onion Style Seasoning on the potatoes. Toss well again to coat evenly.
Spread the potatoes on the parchment-lined baking tray in a single layer.
Bake for 20 minutes. Turn the oven up to 425° and cook fries for 10 minutes. Remove pan from the oven. Turn the potatoes over. Bake for another 10 minutes until golden brown. Bake another 5 minutes if needed.
Remove from the oven. Taste one to see if you need to sprinkle some or all of the remaining seasoning on the fries. Careful, since they will be very hot. Serve immediately along side your entree. Enjoy!
