A Kyusu Japanese Teapot is just what a tea sipper needs to complete their teaware collection, especially if they drink Japanese teas. Do you have one? Kyusu just means teapot in Japanese, and can be used with any tea, whether Japanese, English Breakfast, herbal, green, or really any tea. Rooibos are a bit fine and might fall through the holes in the infuser basket though.
A kyusu allows the tea leaves to fully open so the tea will steep easier with room to expand. These are perfect for pearl teas as well, like our Jasmine Pearl Tea.
Kyusus, while can be any teapot in Japan, they have been traditionally associated with small Japanese teapots with a side handle. They might have an infuser basket or not. They also can be made from ceramic, clay, glass or other materials.
Our kyusus are clear glass with a clear glass tea infuser basket. The handle is wood, which keeps it cooler to hold. At 17 ounces, it steep a generous portion of tea to be shared with your tea friends.
