Description

Fukamushi Sencha

Fukamushi Sencha is made from select tea leaves, which are carefully deep steamed, which results in a smooth, mild flavor and aroma. The tea steeps to a medium to darker yellow color. The leaves are very soft, and when rolled, the tips often break off and settle to the bottom when brewed. This also makes the tea slightly cloudy, both of which are marks of a very high quality Japanese tea. The slight sediment means the health benefits increase as with Matcha. When drank you get more of the nutrients found in green tea, since you are consume parts of the tea plant and not just the steeping.

We work directly with several family-owned tea companies in Japan, both of which trace their histories back over 100 years. They are located in the Shizuoka Prefecture, where they own their own tea plantations, as well as have other families grow tea for them so they can control the process from the ground, through the processing, packing and shipping.

Japanese tea has a grassier flavor than Chinese and other green teas from other countries. Compare the taste of our Fukamushi Sencha from Japan against our Kakagawa Sencha from Zhejiang Province of China and see which you prefer. Both have wide followings among our friends.

We sell other Japanese Green Teas from the same families. So, if you enjoy Green Teas and would like to try our other Japanese teas, please try our Konacha, Genmaicha, Matcha Genmaicha, Gyokuro, Bancha, Houjicha, Kukicha Twig Tea, and our Premium Ceremonial Matcha Tea. Their quality is unsurpassed for Japanese Teas.
