Tibetan Prayer Flags

These Tibetan Prayer Flags have 7 Colors and 21 Flags. Other traditional prayer flags have 5 colors and 20 flags. We brought in a limited number of these prayer flags, as they are flown in the traditional tea-growing areas of Tibet, Nepal and India. We have many friends who have traditional decorations and accessories from these same areas. We’ve had a small set of Tibetan prayer flags in our store as a sign of respect for the traditions of these same areas.

Tibetan prayer flags are on long strings, strung across mountain ridges in the Himalayan Mountains. These brightly colored cloth flags are decorated with Tibetan text – traditionally printed by wood blocks. The symbols can be The Windhorse, other symbolic animals, as well as other symbolic writings and mantras. The wind blows them and with the wind spreads peace, compassion and goodwill into the surroundings to benefit all.

Traditionally, prayer flags come in sets of three or five, depending on the number of colors of the flags. The traditional five colors represent the five elements and the Five Pure Lights. Blue symbolizes the sky, white symbolizes the air and wind, red symbolizes fire, green symbolizes water, and yellow symbolizes Earth.

These prayer flags are 100% authentic from traditional Tibetan artists. They can add to the decor of your yard, or strung inside your home.
