Fajita Seasoning

Fajitas are popular in restaurants and at home.  Use our Fajita Seasoning and the right cut of beef, like skirt steak or flap meat for a delicious meal. Chicken, shrimp, even pork strips are also popular cuts. Vegetable fajitas are also delicious when using a great tasting marinade, like ours. Serve with fresh warm flour or corn tortillas and grilled onions and green peppers, shredded cheese, lime wedges, cilantro, sour cream, pico de gallo, guacamole or other toppings. A side of Mexican rice and pinto or black beans is almost a requirement.

Grill or pan cook the meat and veggies over medium high heat. Be sure not to have too much liquid in the pan or it will saute, rather than grill.

To make the fajita marinade, mix 1 ounce, or about 2-3 tablespoons of fajita seasoning with ½ cup of water. Mix thoroughly, add the thin cut strips your meat or (vegetables if making vegetarian) and coat all over. Add ¼ cup of olive or canola oil and coat the meat well.  You might want to make a bit extra to baste on the fajitas and veggies while grilling. Marinate in the refrigerator 2-4 hours. A large plastic zip lock bags work great for marinating. Be sure to cook your meat all the way through.
