Oaxacan Carne Asada Marinade & Grill Rub

Oaxacan Carne Asada Marinade & Grill Rub is representative of the spices from the Mexican State of Oaxaca which is known for very flavorful cuisine. Their use of different Chiles, chocolate, cheeses, black beans and a variety of spices give their dishes a distinctive flair. Many Mexican foods we eat in the United States originate there.

We wanted a seasoning which could be used for Carne Asada, which means “grilled meat”, or as a rub for beef, pork, chicken and even grilled vegetables, and our Oaxacan Carne Asada Marinade & Grill Rub was crafted.  This complex blend of many spices is one of the best blends we have created. It’s sure to be one of your favorites as well.

One of the best ways we have found to use it has been on skirt steak after marinading.  We have also used it many times on thinly sliced (cross-grain) London Broil, marinated for several hours.  It grills very fast making for a very flavorful meat to use with fajitas, tacos, or with a side of Southwest rice and black beans.

To marinade, add 1 Tablespoon of seasoning per pound of meat, to 1/4 cup of canola or olive oil and 1/4 cup of water. Coat well and place in a resealable bag or marinade dish and refrigerate 1-4 hours, or longer, turning periodically. As a rub, apply liberally and refrigerate for 1-4 hours.

We have a Santa Maria Tri-Tip Roast Marinade which can be used in the same way.  Our Tuscan Seasoning and Mount Olympus Seasoning Blend also both make excellent marinades.  If you like spicier marinades, then you need to check out our Sriracha Seasoning.
