Demerara Sugar

Demerara Sugar is made from the initial pressing of the sugar care, which provides pure juice from the cane. It’s naturally golden brown, crunchy sugar that retains a hint of molasses flavor. Demerara Sugar has a slightly larger crystal than refined sugar.

The slight molasses flavor makes a wonderful addition to your tea, coffee or cereal, especially on hot oatmeal and other hot cereals. Its crunchy texture and golden color make it perfect for baking. We use it ourselves in our hot tea when sweetener is called for.

It does not dissolve easily, which makes it an excellent crunchy topping on desserts when you need a larger sugar crystal, like sprinkled on cupcakes and waffles.
