Cherry Almond Black Tea – Rick’s Tea Face 11/05/2023
What did I have a taste for this week? Well, I wanted seasonal flavors. Hmmmm…Fall pies, holiday flavors, maybe something we nibbled on growing up. Since I put it that way, our Cherry Almond Black Tea came to mind. Cherry is the flavor we like anytime, and we always make a cherry pie for Thanksgiving. Almond was used by mom and grandmother as almond paste for a British Fruit Cake I can still taste. They also used ground almonds in a filling for an English pastry. So, when you add both flavors together, I’m in heaven. And let me tell you, our blender nailed both flavors in this Cherry Almond Tea.
Historically, cherry and almond are two of the most popular flavors in many cultures around the world. From Japan, to Europe, to Scandinavia, you find them in tea, pastries, pies, alone and together. It’s not hard to find a lot of classic recipes using cherries and almonds for holiday baking. We have many friends who love this tea for the same reasons. The scent alone evokes their memories.
