Chocolate Nut Mate – Rick’s Tea Face 12/14/2022
If you’re like me, it’s that time of the year when you have long days, short nights, and not enough energy to get through some of them. If you’re a coffee drinker, you might drink an extra cup of two. But, if you’re more of a tea drinker, you reach for an extra cup or three of black tea. Even then you need a little extra energy. That’s when I’ll go for our Chocolate Nut Maté. The rich, smooth chocolate flavor, paired with hazelnuts and the natural nutty flavor of the roasted Yerba Maté is so good. Not as rich as hot chocolate, but almost, at least to me.
Even though Maté has about the same caffeine level as coffee, one main difference is that you don’t the caffeine jot of coffee, nor do you get the fast caffeine crash. You have to try it to see how it works on you. For me, I’ll make a teapot of Chocolate Nut Maté, and drink several cups as I would with a pot of tea. With a bit of sugar to compliment the chocolately flavor, I’m good to go for a few more hours.
