Japanese Genmaicha Green Tea – Rick’s Tea face 03-18-2024

With Spring just starting, I’m still into our plain, unflavored teas. Last week it was our Japanese Fukamushi Sencha. This week it’s our Japanese Genmaicha Green Tea, which is a roasted brown rice green tea. Like all Japanese green teas, they tend to have a grassier, more vegetal flavor than their Chinese counterparts, which I personally prefer when I want as pure of a green flavor as I can get. Now, for the Genmaicha part, Genmai means rice and cha is tea. The roasted rice adds a flavorful roasty flavor to compliment the green tea. On the website page, we’ve posted the one legend behind genmaicha tea.

Genmaicha is one of our top-selling green teas. Our friends tell us that they just love the roasted rice flavor, and that ours is much more flavorful than others they have tried before. We agree since we tried a number of them before deciding on bringing ours in from the same Japanese family who we buy our other Japanese teas from.

Have I convinced you enough to try it? Still want more information and a deeper history of Genmaicha’s origin? Sure you do, so please click HERE. Once you’re taken an even closer look, please stop by our store to pick some up, or on our website. Now, back to work, as I finish my cup. Cheers!
