Tezpur Estate Assam Tea is a very flavorful, golden tippy Assam tea. It is full bodied with a round smoothness and a classic malty flavor. Not too astringent, it is a wonderful which can be drank all day long.

Tezpur is a city in the Sonitpur district in the state of Assam in northeastern India. The entire region is an important tea growing region. It was in this Assam state where Charles Bruce discovered the indigenous Indian tea plant and has been credited withe founding of the Indian tea industry. Bruce is buried in the Christian cemetery in Tezpur.

Tezpur is a very large, ancient city on the banks of the river Brahmaputra. There are carved, stone records going back to 829AD. The economy of Tezpur is based on the tea industry, which surround the city. It is also a tourist area, attracting many visitors for its beautiful parks and scenic views. There are many historical ruins in the area dating to the 4th century.

While all of this historical information doesn’t create a better cup of tea. It does though create a sense of history around the tea industry and how important it is to their community and the sense of historical pride they have for their most valuable commodity. The teas of Assam are considered some of the best in the world. We think so too.

Hot Tea Steeping Instructions: Put 1 heaping teaspoon of loose tea for each 8oz of water in your tea cup or teapot. Using a tea infuser to hold the tea makes it easier. Pour boiling water over the tea. Steep for 3 to 5 minutes.

Iced Tea Instructions: For a Liter or quart use 2 heaping Tbsp. of loose tea into teapot. Pour 1 1/4 cup boiled water on tea. Steep 3 to 5 min. Strain tea into pitcher, adding water and/or ice to complete the liter or quart. Garnish & sweeten to taste.
