Peach Fairies Flowering Tea

Peach Fairies Flowering Tea is a fine green tea with chrysanthemum and a string of seven jasmine flowers handmade and sewn. It has a light peach flavor. It is as much of a little artwork as it is a tea.

Flowering, or Blooming teas, as they are also called, are a favorite among tea drinkers at tea parties and other events when serving a flowering tea can be a centerpiece on a table.  It is important to steep the tea in a tea pot of at least 24 ounces, since one tea artisan makes about 3 cups or 24 ounces. This allows the artisans to open and display properly.  Otherwise, they are cramped and won’t open up and show their artwork.   These teas are as much about the visual as the flavor, so the flavor intensity isn’t as much as a standard loose tea.  Most have lighter flavors.

To prepare, place 1 Peach Fairies artisan in your teapot and add water that is roughly 194’F. Infuse until the Artisan is fully open, usually about 5 minutes. Watch the leaves unfurl to reveal the hidden flower treasure.  You can infuse Peach Fairies 2 or 3 times, until the flavors subside and disappear.

After you are done infusing the tea the maximum times, carefully pour off any remaining water. Fill the teapot with cool, fresh water, pour about a teaspoon of white vinegar in the pot and enjoy looking at your fully-bloomed Peach Fairies Flowering Tea for several more days.  Some last up to about a week.
