Avocado Toast is everywhere these days, almost to the point of becoming a cliche. Yet, many have yet to try it. We were one of those, but once we made it, we were hooked. We used our Sheffield’s Everything Bagel Seasoning as the topping and it was like the clouds parted, the sky opened up and a voice said, “Good, eh? What took you so long to try it?” We created our Everything Seasoning specifically for Avocado Toast. I have to say, we nailed it.
There are many ways to make Avocado Toast. Change the bread, what you put on the toast besides avocado, even how you prepare your avocado. The avocado is the common ingredient. Beyond that, it’s your way. Our recipe is like an ultimate version. We’ve tried several variations and they are all good. We’d like to believe it’s the Everything Bagel Seasoning sprinkled on top which makes the difference between good Avocado Toast and “I want more”.
Once you’ve tried our version, you might want to leave off the cream cheese, add a slice of tomato, add a few fresh chopped chives, change the type of bread or use a toasted bagel. It’s OK, because it’s the seasoning that adds the real flavor to the avocado. Have fun, it’s your Avocado Toast.
2 slices Hearty Multi-grain Bread. We use a bread with lots of seeds and grains for a great flavor and texture when toasted.
1 Medium Ripe Avocado, diced, sliced or mashed. You choose.
Plain Cream Cheese. We use whipped since it’s easier to spread, but you use whatever version you prefer
2 Teaspoons Sheffield’s Everything Bagel Seasoning
Fresh Chopped Chives (optional)
Directions: (This is the easy part)
Toast your bread. Spread a layer of the Cream Cheese on the toast. Add a layer of your sliced, diced or mashed Avocado. Sprinkle about a teaspoon of the Everything Bagel Seasoning on each slice. Add more or less as you get hooked on the Avocado Toast. Top with the optional Chives. Serve and enjoy.
