Description

Chun Mee Green Tea

Chun Mee is a traditional Chinese green tea. The name means “precious eyebrows” due to the curved shape of the tea leaf after pan-firing, and rolling. The color is characterized as a light, dusty green.

Its flavor is lighter and less grassy than other green teas. It has a slight astringency, which some taste as slight bitter. Yet, some taste a bit of a sweetness, which shows that our palates can be different, sip the same tea and pick up different notes. It also has a bit more vegetal flavor that other green teas.

When steeped, it has a yellowish color. Chun Mee has a very satisfying flavor both hot and iced.

We have an excellent selection of green teas, both plain and flavored, including some specialty teas, like Ceremonial Matcha, Houjicha and Kukicha Twig Tea. For the traditional green tea drinker, please look at our Fukamushi and Gyokuro, both we bring in directly from one of the leading tea families in Japan. We have many other Japanese and Chinese green teas, and so many flavored green teas.
