Savory Citron & Herb Butter
Our Savory Citron & Herb Butter has a very savory flavor which compliments many dishes when used as a topping. Our Savory Onion Blend has all herbs and spices you need for the base. Citron in the name comes from the French word for lemon. We use a bit of freshly squeezed lemon juice which adds just a touch of lemony tang and sets off the other spices and herbs.
Use our Savory Citron & Herb Butter on your favorite cut of steak, grilled chicken, pork chop, or grilled shrimp. Better yet, saute your shrimp in this most delicious herb butter. Add a dollop on your roasted potatoes or grilled vegetables. One taste and you’ll probably find more ways to use our herb butter for cooking and topping.
Makes About ¾ Cup
2 Tablespoons Sheffield’s Savory Onion Blend
1 Tablespoon Water
2 Tablespoons Fresh Lemon Juice
½ Teaspoon Worcestershire Sauce
½ Tablespoon Dijon Mustard
½ Tsp. Red Pepper Flakes
1 Stick Salted Butter, Softened
1 Tbsp. Fresh Parsley Chopped
2 Tablespoons Fresh Chives Chopped
In medium mixing bowl, add the Savory Onion, water, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, and red pepper flakes. Mix well and let sit for 5 minutes to let the spices and herbs rehydrate.
Add the softened butter and mix with a fork to blend together well. Once blended, add the chives and parsley and fold in. Refrigerate if needed to firm up a bit. Add a scoop or more onto your steak, grilled chicken, roasted potatoes and other vegetables. Refrigerate or freeze unused butter.
