Sweet Turkey Wurky
Our Sweet Turkey Wurky is a lightly sweetened rub perfect for your holiday turkey or any poultry or pork dish. Turkey is a classic dish during the holidays. As well as Chicken has become a staple in most American’s weekly meal plans – it is inexpensive, easy to fix and is a central dish in most diet plans.
But we all know that chicken can also get a little boring and our Sweet Turkey seasoning is certainly perfect to give this wonderful meat a nice little jolt for the taste buds. We like to use it as a wet rub on our chicken or turkey while mixing 1 teaspoon to 1 Tablespoon depending on the size of your bird, with a 1/4 or 1/2 cup of olive oil.
This rub can also be used for a brine. If you go the brine route you’ll need to soak your bird for a good 24 hours before you cook. Use 2 qts vegetable stock, 2 qts water, 2 oz of the Sweet Turkey Wurky and 1/4 cup kosher salt. Place in a plastic tub and refrigerate. 1 hour per pound of fowl.
If making your own brine isn’t your thing, we craft our own brine mixes. One is Citrus Brining Mix, which is complete with all the spices, herbs, salt & sugar. The other is our Citrus Brining Herbs which has the spices and herbs, but you add your own salt and sugar. Both are popular all year long.
