Carolina Reaper Chile Pepper Powder
The Carolina Reaper Chile Pepper is the hottest chile pepper in the world. It is a crossbreed between the Ghost and Red Habanero. Officially on the Scoville Heat Units (SHU) scale, it measures around 1.6 million, while it has been measured at 2.2 million SHU in the laboratory. That is twice as hot as the Ghost Pepper, and about 100 times hotter than the habanero pepper. Besides the heat, the Reaper has a fruity undertone with chocolaty, cherry hints.
Use in any dish that calls for Chile Peppers or Chile Powder and it will add a maximum level of scorching heat. Careful how much you add. Start will very small amounts since you can always add more. Try a dash in your salsa, chili or taco sauces. Many Chileheads will add Carolina Reaper, Ghost or any of the extreme heat chile peppers to just about any dish.
