Berbere Spice

Berbere Spice is an Ethiopian spice blend which varies from family to family, not unlike Curries and other complex spice blends. We blended ours using the traditional spices found in the authentic family blends. Cayenne for the spicy heat, plus Fenugreek, Cardamom, Garlic, and many more.

Traditionally used in Ethiopia to season Chicken and Lentil dishes, Berbere is also used as a dry rub on ribs, steaks and other meat dishes.

It also goes well with vegetables, sprinkled on corn-on-the-cob, and grain dishes. Use as a table condiment to add a great flavor on whatever you would sprinkle salt and pepper.

If you like Northern African spice blends, we also blend our own Ras el Hanout, Harissa Spice which is usually made into a paste, and our own Marrakeh Market blends.

Ingredients: Cayenne Pepper, Onion,  Paprika, Salt, Fenugreek, Ginger, Garlic, Cardamom, and Spices.
